Grilled flatbread

This homemade grilled flatbread recipe is a summer must-have. Not only is it easy to make, it goes with almost every dip, flavored oil, and spread.

What you’ll need

1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast

1/2 cup warm water

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 1/2 cups flour

1 teaspoon sea salt

Makes 4 servings

Turn on your grill to preheat it. In a mixing bowl, pour in the warm water and sprinkle the yeast on top. Gently stir together and set aside for 4-6 minutes, or until the mixture becomes foamy.

Add the olive oil, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture and stir to combine. Once all the ingredients are well combined place the dough onto a well-floured surface and knead for about 2 minutes, or until it has an elastic texture. Place the dough in a buttered, or oiled, bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let the dough sit for 30 minutes. Return the dough to your floured surface and divide into 4 equal parts. Roll out each piece until they are about 1/8 inch thick.

Lightly brush olive oil on one side of the flatbread and place the oiled side down onto the grill. Allow the bread to cook for 2 minutes. While one side is cooking, oil the side facing up. Flip the bread and allow it to cook for 2 more minutes. Sprinkle with sea salt and serve warm.
