Meet the Gygi Team: Darla Holladay

We decided that we wanted to offer our online customers and readers, who haven’t had the opportunity to come and visit us in person, a chance to get to know the people who make The Orson H. Gygi Company run and operate on a daily basis.

To kick off this series, we’ll start by introducing you to Darla Holladay.

For those of you who don’t know, Darla is one of the first smiling faces you will see when you come into our store. She is always there to greet you and see if she can assist you in any way.

When I asked Darla what her favorite Gygi product was, she told me it was a toss up between two things: the Rosle peeler and Calleaut’s chocolate mousse.

“I have never used a better peeler in my life!” she said, “And as far as the mousse, I love chocolate, and this is really the best chocolate mousse. It’s so easy to make too.”

When Darla’s not at Gygi’s, she’s loving life in the outdoors. “I like to get outside in nature. I love hiking and any water sport.” If it has to do with fitness and nature, she’s there. Like her love of the outdoors, she also has a love of cooking.

“Italian food is probably my favorite thing to cook,” she told me, “especially spaghetti and lasagna.”

“Since you cook at home quite a bit, which kitchen tools do you use the most?” I asked.

She laughed and said, “The Rosle peeler, of course! I use a lot, but the peeler comes first. And next to that I’d have to say my Fat Daddio’s cupcake pan.”

After all, what good is dinner without a little dessert afterwards?
