There is just something about cupcakes that make a party special! For my daughter’s 7th birthday we were planning a big carnival party and needed something simple & easy. We were serving about 80 people, so cutting cake slices for that size of crowd was out.
Today I am going to share with you a tutorial for my animal treasure jars! They are the perfect carnival party favor. It was so darling to see the kids light up when they got to pick out their favorite animal treasure jar to take home!
We are excited to have Laura Muir, from Fresh and Happy, guest post this week on the Gygi blog. She put together a crafty and creative summer carnival party that was too fun not to share. Get all of her ideas and designs right here.
I am so thrilled to share my outdoor carnival party with you today! I have always been a sucker for a good carnival. I have memories of planning little carnival parties for my birthday when I was a little girl. I guess that always stuck with me! Thank goodness for Orson Gygi and all their adorable party merchandise and concessions. They sure do make throwing a carnival a cinch!
Hi everyone, Sarah and Emily here from Boxwood Clippings! Growing up in England, we always had massive hollow chocolate Easter eggs filled with our favorite treats. We were thrilled to see large Easter egg molds at Gygi (HERE), and thought we had to give them a try for our baby girls!
We were thrilled with how easy and great our hollow chocolate eggs turned out!
This week wraps up the largest Brazilian holiday, Carnival. Carnival is an annual festival celebrating the beginning of Lent that is a nationwide celebration throughout Brazil. In honor of this fun holiday we thought it fitting to highlight a local Brazilian baker and chocolatier, The Sweet Brigadier.
Marcela Ferrinha, owner and chef of The Sweet Brigadier, specializes in the the classic Brazilian truffle, brigadeiro. Her truffles are so good that we had to ask for her recipe for these classic Brazilian truffles. Follow #gygilocals for more local artisans inspiring the Salt Lake landscape one delicious creation at a time!
Hi everyone! This is Emily, from Boxwood Clippings. I’m so excited to be sharing with you how we used Gygi products to put together a lovely party for my baby’s blessing day.
I am literally addicted to Guittard chocolate, so I needed no enticing whatsoever to buy it in bulk at Gygi 🙂 We used both milk and vanilla a’ peels (HERE and HERE) to fancy up Walkers shortbread. We simply dipped or drizzled the chocolate, and let set on parchment paper. This couldn’t have been easier and was such a hit. Everyone was raving and asking about type of chocolate we used!
The girls from Boxwood Clippings are back with another fun neighbor gift idea. Remember the pretzels? This time, it’s another great neighbor gift idea – Homemade Peppermint Bark. Check out their tutorial:
All you need is:
First, line baking tray completely with foil. Then place peppermint sticks in a ziplock bag and crush by beating with a rolling pin.
Next, melt milk chocolate in microwave stirring every 30 seconds about 1 1/2 minutes total, then spread chocolate evenly covering whole pan. Place in fridge for 15 – 30 minutes. (Note: Placing chocolate in the fridge will help it to set up faster, but it may cause the chocolate to bloom).
Meanwhile, melt white chocolate the same way but note it melts in slightly less time. Then add peppermint flavoring to taste, about 2-3 drops. Spread white chocolate over hardened milk chocolate, and immediately sprinkle crushed peppermint sticks on top.
