Pizza in the Cook-It-All Dutch Oven

We really love a tool that earns its keep in the kitchen. Which is why we love the Cook-It-All Dutch Oven from Lodge. It really does live up to its name. Each part of this handy tool can be flipped over and used in a different way.

Today we are making pizza in the Cook-It-All. For pizza you need lots of heat, so we started 38 charcoals – that will get the dutch oven nice and toasty. Make a bed of coals, and place the griddle directly on top of the coals.

Give the pan a light spray with Lodge Seasoning Spray, or spread a small amount of vegetable oil on the pan. Then place the pizza directly on the griddle. If you’re using a homemade dough, you can spread your pizza dough directly on the pan. Let the dough cook for 5 minutes, then add the toppings and finish cooking.

The pizza will take about 15 minutes to bake. You’ll want to watch for the toppings to be hot and you’ll start seeing some browning on the top. You can pull the pizza off and eat it up!

If you wanted to bake some more pizza, the briquettes will hold their heat for about 45 minutes, so you could throw another round or two on before you’d need to get new charcoals.

Can you taste it now? Homemade pizza cooked with the flavor of cast iron in the backyard or around the campground- it feels so fun.

More about the Cook-It-All

With 5 cooking configurations from only 2 pieces of iron, the Cook-It-All brings a whole world of culinary possibilities to your campsite.

The reversible grill/griddle offers a generous cooking surface and also acts as a lid.

The 6.8 quart bottom is a wok and skillet, and can be inverted to become a domed lid for baking.

The heavy-duty handles are removable and make it easy to maneuver the pan while keeping hands safe from heat.
